WWE Night Of Champions: 12 Major Talking Points
3. The Undertaker Vs. Brock Lesnar Go To Hell
Apart from the ‘Legends with JBL’ show, WWE was also promoting another Network special that’s going to take place in 5 weeks’ time: Hell in a Cell.
The annual event is usually a bigger draw than the September PPV for various reasons, but this year there will be yet another reason to tune in: Brock Lesnar will be taking on none other than the Undertaker as the third part of his ‘Go To Hell Tour’.
Clearly, WWE are trying to make as much out of this renewed Lesnar-Undertaker rivalry as possible. It’s not hard to see why: their brawl in July pretty much sold the SummerSlam PPV, and their actual match at that event was, with the exception of the screwy finish, a great effort.
It’s obvious that not only is Undertaker in better health than initially suspected, but Brock’s becoming more adjusted to wrestling a safer style than he had when he first returned in 2012.
With such a match being promoted for the October PPV, it’s virtually guaranteed that comparisons will be made to their famous 2002 encounter.
Given who's involved, expect this match to be the main event of the show, because clearly WWE thinks that a match featuring two part-time performers, one of whom being 50-years-old, is an appropriate closing match for the PPV.
