21. Tom Phillips' Face CANNOT Handle A Segue

I picked up on this in my Battleground article two months ago, but dammit it's still as pressing a problem as it's ever been: Tom Phillips' face does not know what to do with itself. Like a newborn deer seeing the sun for the first, whenever the camera panned to Phillips on NOC's Kickoff show, his face was briefly frozen in a rictus mask of nervous terror and at-gunpoint friendliness. There's horror in those eyes. That is a dead and empty smile. His skin is not real. His hair is synthetic. Like Pinocchio, he is not a real boy. For whole seconds his face didn't move, presumably until someone released the key in his back and his mechanisms kicked into life. Tom Phillips, sort your face out.
