WWE Night Of Champions Results: 10 Things We Learned

8. Rusev Will Dump Summer Rae

The ongoing angle involving Rusev, Dolph Ziggler, Summer Rae and Lana has lost steam over the past few weeks. Injuries have played their part, but the overall writing hasn't been especially strong for the rivalry. Since Lana was forced to take a sabbatical due to injury, the writing staff have changed tact. Ziggler is now pursuing Summer Rae, solely to get inside the head of Rusev. At least, that's how it came across initially. Last week on Smackdown, Dolph hinted that a gift he gave to Summer was legitimate, confusing fans and making people wonder exactly what is going on. The story isn't as cut and dried as most WWE angles usually are. That's not necessarily a bad thing, because Night Of Champions served to clear things up a little. Throwing a temper tantrum at the prospect of being banned from ringside by the referee, Summer 'accidentally' hit Rusev with one of her shoes. This directly led to Ziggler picking up the victory. It's logical that the Bulgarian star will see red over the incident, and it looks like Summer Rae will no longer be by his side going forward.
