WWE Night Of Champions Results: 10 Things We Learned

6. Chris Jericho Was The Mystery Partner

Before Night Of Champions, there was a lot of talk focused on exactly who would be the partner for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Names such as Erick Rowan, Kane and even Daniel Bryan were thrown out there, even though the latter was realistically never going to happen. To the delight of the live crowd, it turned out to be Chris Jericho. There were no hints dropped that suggested the Canadian was going to show up. It was a nice surprise for the fans, who greeted 'Y2J' like a returning hero. The match itself turned out fine, and there was even a tasty piece of plot development for people to dissect after the result. Losing to Braun Strowman, Jericho had blind tagged himself in at the expense of Reigns. Confronting their makeshift partner over the incident, Reigns and Ambrose were left stunned when Jericho barged through them and left the arena. There was a hint of heel about Jericho's mannerisms and behaviour. It's unclear whether or not he's reverting to playing a villain, but his appearance answered the question over who the partner would turn out to be.
