WWE No Mercy 2001: 5 Awesome Things And 5 That Sucked

3. Test Beat Kane In A Forgettable Match

There was an on again-off again kind of push for Test from the moment he showed up in WWE. They tried him out as a face and a heel, but he really didn't succeed that much in either role. By the time we got to No Mercy, he was locked into a heel role and management tried to elevate him by matching up with a top face like Kane. Their match was a competitive battle that went about 10 minutes, but at no point was it exciting. They worked at a really slow pace. At least Test was able to get out of the Kane clothesline attempt that most people never are able to avoid. Test did show impressive power with a Pumphandle Slam, but then he does things like a top rope elbow that really doesn't mesh with a guy that should be a power wrestler. That's what was weird about Test. Was he a power guy or a speed guy? He should have been a power guy only. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x10prnf_kane-vs-test_sport The finish wasn't good. After Test brought in a chair, Kane stole it from him and corrupt ref Nick Patrick was knocked down. Test hit a low blow, then won the match with a boot to the face. That's it? Weak finish. Post match, Kane gave a Chokeslam to Patrick to get his heat back. It was a below average match. Test never got over huge as a face or heel no matter how hard WWE tried.
