Rewind to Backlash, and the unlikely duo of Heath Slater and Rhyno were causing much merriment by becoming the first ever SmackDown Tag-Team Champions. The odd couple tandem have a suitably weird level of chemistry between them, they're the kind of unit that perhaps shouldn't work as well as they do.

Come No Mercy, Slater and Rhyno (or 'Beauty and the Man Beast') faced The Usos for their recently-captured titles. Having turned into heels a short while ago, Jimmy and Jey have completely refreshed their own act. As babyfaces, the brothers were struggling to maintain a sense of relevancy with the core audience.

Now as villainous rogues, they are ideal foil for the SmackDown Tag-Team Champions. Just as there is with The New Day over on Monday Night Raw, there should be no rush to dethrone Slater and Rhyno. Right now, they are the best choice to keep the belts warm.

Eventually, a vicious heel team will beat them, setting the scene for American Alpha to take their rightful place at the top of the division. Currently though, Slater and Rhyno remain in the championship hot seat.
