Stone Cold vs Triple H, 3 Stages of Hell The scene had been set way back at Survivor Series 1999. Stone Cold had been run down by a car driven by Rikishi who had been working for Triple H. During a handicap match on Monday Night Raw is War which faced Stone Cold against Kurt Angle and Rikishi, Triple H headed for the ring with the fans expecting him to help Stone Cold (we were unaware of Triple H's involvement at that time) Hunter nailed Austin from behind with his sledgehammer thus revealing that it was him behind the hit and run all along. The two then met at the annual Survivor Series Pay Pay View, where again Triple H attempted to run down Steve Austin after their fight had spilled out into the parking lot. However the Texas Rattlesnake had other ideas and the event that unfolded could possibly be one of the most shocking endings to a pay per view in WWE history. As Triple H sat in the car, Stone Cold attached it to a crane and then began hoisting the vehicle up 20 foot in the air, as viewers were met with Hunter pleaded for Austin not to do anything. The car hit the cranes peak and was then dropped upside down, crushing on impact with apparently Triple H inside and viewers were left to wonder what they had actually just witnessed. The two men then went on to interfere in each others Championship matches which led to Vince McMahon to sanction a 3 Stages of Hell match (which was a 2 out if 3 fall match with each fall having its own stipulation) to finally settle their differences. The bout was an evenly fought match which consisted of some great back and forth. The first falls rule was contested as a standard wrestling match, a well fought evenly matched affair, both men keeping the crowd on their toes. Triple H succumbing to the stunner was the first man to fall, Stone Cold took the first win and it then went into the second fall under Street Fight rules. Steel chairs, barbed wire wood was the order of the day, a blatant hardcore match in which Triple H was able to gain the pin fall taking the 2 out of 3 falls to Even Stevens. A blistering cage match followed, which included various weapons still strewn in the ring culminating in an excellent final fall. Both men pulled out all the stops, the final bell at 40 minutes concluded that both men had wrestled and fought their hearts out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzNJHi6V8qQ Triple H in the end was the victor, a bloody, bitter battle had been fought to the end. Only when both men hit each other with devastating weapons (Triple H had his signature sledge hammer, while Austin had the 2x4 barbed wire) both men fell unconsciously to the ground as Hunter landed on Austin the referee counted the three. Two men, three falls, three stipulations, a battle which was won by the fans outright. Austin went on to Wrestlemania and after Vince McMahon handed him a steel chair he regained the WWF Championship, the next night on Monday Night Raw Triple H and Austin laid their differences aside, joining forces thus creating the Two Man Power Trip.
