AEW's television ratings declined sharply in what was a poor week for the upstart promotion as the Wednesday Night Wars continue, with WWE NXT scoring a rare victory over Dynamite in overall viewership.

WWE's black-and-gold brand came through with an average of 786,000 viewers across its two hours, up from the previous week's 746,000. Dynamite, meanwhile, fell from 772,000 to a lowly 633,000, which is the lowest number in the show's history. The difference of 153,000 makes this NXT's biggest viewership triumph since the two shows started going head-to-head last October.

The key 18-49 demographic remains the most important figure from the networks' perspective. AEW scored a narrow victory in this department, notching a 0.22 rating vs. NXT's 0.19, making Dynamite the 17 most-watched cable show in this group on the night. A small, small difference in an area that AEW often dominates.

Other demographics were closer than usual as well, with NXT outdoing Dynamite in females 12-34 and scoring a tie in females 19-49. The WWE show crushed Dynamite in viewers over 50 as always.

Quarter-hour numbers are yet to be released, making it impossible to compare the night's biggest winners and losers. A horrible night for AEW, though.
