WWE Release Several NXT Developmental Talents

Garrett "Kris Kristofferson's Son" Dylan among others gone due to be budget cuts.

In a move that was expected following the underwhelming WWE Network subscription numbers were released yesterday, the WWE has cut several developmental talents. Garret Dylan, Mac Miles, Slate Randall, Travis Tyler and Dani Jax were all released from their deals this week, as the WWE is in cost-cutting mode to offset the expenses incurred by the launch of the Network. All of the talents were used sparingly, and were seen as expendable cuts, although former NXT talents have already sounded off on the matter, voicing contrary opinions. Former WWE developmental wrestler Oliver Grey tweeted today "The reason the business is failing, Mojo Rawley is still employed whilst Slate Randal is released." Randal had been a journeyman on the independent circuit, and also appeared on The Rock's television program, "The Hero." Dylan, son of country music star Kris Kristofferson was released for the second time, the first coming last August before being re-signed months later. Dylan had appeared as "Captain Comic," one of Adam Rose's "Rosebuds." Tyler had been signed by the WWE in 2012, but appeared sporadically for the NXT brand, never winning a televised match. Tyler joked on Twitter that he was probably the first guy to get fired while wearing a pink fanny pack in a long time. Miles was signed to the WWE last fall after an impressing WWE officials with his agility during tryouts. He made his NXT debut at the July 17 television tapings, where he and partner Steve Cutler were quickly disposed of by the Ascension. Dani Jax, a former OVW competitor, was also signed a few months ago following an impressive tryout last winter. She had yet to perform on television or live events for the company. More cuts are expected throughout all divisions within the WWE.
