WWE NXT Men's & Women's Dusty Rhodes Classic Finals Set
Here's who advanced to the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day.
Last night's episode of WWE NXT brought several important advancements ahead of this weekend's TakeOver: Vengeance Day show, most notably in the two Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournaments.
On the men's side, the Grizzled Young Veterans and MSK have advanced to the finals and will now face each other on the supercard. This came following MSK's victory over Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza of Legado Del Fantasma early in the evening, before GYV put the new team of Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher away in the main event, with the two sides arguing over the trophy as the angle drew to a close.
Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon are the new women's finalists. They defeated The Way's Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell to earn this shot, which puts them opposite Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez on Sunday night. Kai and Gonzalez had already qualified for the bout after beating Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter last week.
Whoever wins the women's tournament will get a shot at Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax's WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, while GYV or MSK will end up facing Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch for the NXT Tag Team Titles.
