WWE NXT TakeOver: The End: 10 Awesome Moments
9. Andrade Almas Picks Up A Huge Win On His NXT Debut
Only signing his WWE contract in November, 2015, the artist formerly known as La Sombra (in CMLL and NJPW) has been made to wait for his big moment. After several dark matches, the renamed Andrade Almas finally made his full in-ring NXT debut at TakeOver: The End. His chosen opponent was Tye Dillinger.
Nicknamed 'Cien', Almas wasn't asked to do too much during his initial pay-per-view style bout. He and Dillinger kept things simple, although there were some notable spots in the match. Most memorably, Almas picked up the win, but not before taking a thunderous Superkick to the head as he balanced on the corner turnbuckle.
That would draw a close near fall, but Cien eventually notched the victory. His finisher, a running double knee smash performed to a downed opponent prone in the corner, looked devastating.
As over as Dillinger was with the live crowd, fans were polite to Almas as he made his official televised debut. It would have been foolish to debut him in a losing position, especially when he possesses a finisher like that.
