WWE NXT TakeOver The End: 5 Near-Guarantees & 5 Possible Surprises
9. Possible Surprise: A Match Added To The Card
Is it just me or does the TakeOver: The End card feel a little bare? No doubt it's as star-studded as TakeOver: Dallas was, but this TakeOver feels as though it's lacking depth. NXT featured an unusual amount of superstars since the last event on WrestleMania weekend, yet many seem as though they are going to miss out on a payoff.
Granted, NXT has more time to fill with numerous performers making the transition to WWE's main roster. Making up for established stars in Sami Zayn, Enzo and Cass, Baron Corbin, and Apollo Crews in such a short time was always going to leave a void, but it still seems odd to dedicate time to other talent and not have them feature on a TakeOver special.
It would be a welcome surprise if NXT featured an unexpected addition to its card, likely a contest scheduled for the live crowd while the cameras are off.
Also featuring five matches, NXT: Dallas ran for only just over two hours, even with three relatively long bouts, somehow reducing the promoted match between Apollo Crews and Elias Samson onto the pre-show. With WWE not having to worry about time constraints, NXT TakeOver: The End would be a whole lot more fulfilling if we get to see some of the performers used in angles receiving an unexpected chance to shine.
