5. Finn Bálor

Pros:

1. The Demon gimmick has loads of storytelling potential

2. Years of global experience, including a huge run in NJPW

3. Has an intuitive understanding of WWE's style

Cons:

1. Relies heavily on the Demon

2. His unpainted work in NXT has been unspectacular

3. Needs to better differentiate between his normal and powered-up forms

NXT is the home of the awesome debut, from Hideo Itami's unabashedly badass fight with the Ascension to Kevin Owens' dismantling of CJ Parker, but Finn Bálor has them all beat. As soon as he stalked his way out of the shadows painted up like a Spider-Man symbiote, Finn Bálor became a true favorite of the NXT audience.

What makes Bálor a unique performer is his demon form. Without his paint, he's basically Tyson Kidd, a great junior heavyweight wrestler. WITH the paint, he's an unstoppable Yu Yu Hakusho character that wouldn't look out of place challenging the Undertaker.

He hasn't yet revealed the true nature of the Demon, whether it's a "real" possession or simply a mind game. As yet there's no rhyme or reason to when he summons it, but  he's won every time that he has. The possibility of the Demon appearing gives Bálor feuds a dynamic all their own.

Final rating: ****3/4
