At WrestleMania 32, Dean Ambrose stared at the bright lights of the AT&T Stadium for Brock Lesnar. Some seemed surprised on social media by the outcome, claiming that it was Ambrose who deserved the win. After all, he would be the one flying the flag for WWE full time, whilst Brock took a post-'Mania sabbatical from the promotion.

Those complaints were eased a little by what occurred at Payback. A singles match against Chris Jericho was slow in periods, but the affair - much like many others on the card - was built to progress naturally in terms of speed. By the end of the bout, fans who had been disappointed at WrestleMania were left delighted.

Hitting his Dirty Deeds DDT, Ambrose picked up a much-needed win on pay-per-view. Jericho isn't someone governed by wins or losses at this point in his career, but he's still a big scalp when beaten in clean fashion.

There was something altogether satisfying about Dean's win, it erases some of the negativity surrounding the match with Lesnar. It should also lead to another encounter against Y2J.
