WWE Payback 2016: 10 Things We Learned

4. Chris Jericho & Dean Ambrose Will Meet Again

Chris Jericho went down cleanly to Dean Ambrose at Payback. Maybe the part-timer will shoot off for the foreseeable future, jetting away with his band Fozzy. That would be a shame, because this current heel run is some of the best work he has produced for years in WWE. It'd be nice to see it last for as long as possible.

No heel should be satisfied by being beaten by the babyface hero. In fact, they should be downright embarrassed, something Jericho will probably put across in coming promos. Extreme Rules is just a few weeks away, and there may not be enough time to build someone else as a suitable opponent for Ambrose.

This hints that Jericho and Ambrose will do battle once again on pay-per-view, probably in a stipulation match that fits in with the 'Extreme' branding of the show. The titular 'Extreme Rules' Match has already been taken, so maybe something as simple as a 'Falls Count Anywhere' bout would suffice.

That may seem too similar, but there's definitely room for at least one more Jericho vs. Ambrose showing. Jericho's post-match tantrum says something else is bound to happen.
