3. Building Up Resentment Between Shane & Stephanie

Instantly, Tweets of discontent were flying around all over the place when Vince McMahon announced who would be running Monday Night Raw at Payback.

Unable to give a firm decision, Vince said that both Shane and Stephanie would run the program. There were audible groans when he did so from the fans in attendance.

Given time to digest the segment, it really wasn't bad at all. In fact, it was the best route right now. It's clear that Shane is heading for a match against Triple H at some point, it wouldn't make sense to bring him back just for one match against The Undertaker.

Shane has much more to offer from an in-ring perspective, and a brawl against 'The Game' at Extreme Rules (or perhaps beyond) is the best way to use him.

Undermining one another as the weeks roll on, Shane and Stephanie will build resentment. This does mean The Authority story drags on and that Raw isn't really entering a 'new' era, but if that comes at the cost of enabling story to develop, so be it.
