WWE could be heading to the United Kingdom for a major pay-per-view within the next two years.

This is according to British newspaper The Sun, who note that a show could go down in 2022, mentioning that this would mark the 30-year anniversary of SummerSlam being held at Wembley Stadium, London.

SummerSlam 1992 was a successful night highlighted by The British Bulldog's main event victory over Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart. A special match brought to the next level by an incredible crowd, it built perfectly to a huge, cathartic victory for Bulldog on home turf, with Hart working extremely hard to get him over.

While WWE still tour the United Kingdom regularly and have held several episodes of Raw and SmackDown in the country over the past few years, it has been a long time since they've taken a pay-per-view to British shores. The last was Insurrextion all the way back in 2003. The company were holding one-to-two PPVs a year in the UK prior to that, starting with Capital Carnage in December 1998.

The 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium would likely be the frontrunner as far as venues go.
