WWE Power Rankings - May 4th 2014
8. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph was given the unenviable position of the celebrity segment on Raw. Yet thanks to his opportunities becoming increasingly rarer this was actually a chance for him to shine. He got to cut a short promo before introducing the guest Hugh Jackman and he used his short time well by displaying a likeable charm without sacrificing any of his arrogance, even squeezing in a couple of laughs. His interactions with Jackman were also strong, as the two seemed believable as friends off-camera, a feat that is rarely pulled off during celebrity appearances. Their history in WWE was used to help this along and it was just generally good stuff.
Sandow coming out as Magneto was also surprisingly less painful than it would seem on paper, and the three managed to make it a surprisingly fun segment from the weak material that left Dolph and Jackman standing tall. Ziggler would stand tall once again on SmackDown, defeating Sandow (still in Magneto attire) to get a long overdue week of looking consistently strong.
