14. The Big Show
Underrated as a worker, Paul 'Big Show' Wight is still dealing with the perception created from years of underwhelming performances. Now an experienced veteran, he has finally mastered his craft, some of his performances in 2012 were fantastic - I rated him as a top ten guy last year. In 2013 The Big Show has not hit the same lofty heights. He had periods of inactivity and didn't sustain the same main event status he enjoyed in 2012. Nevertheless, there were plenty of plus points again this year. The giant started 2013 as World Champion before quickly dropping the belt to Alberto Del Rio in a satisfying series of matches. A face turn followed and Big Show started to feud with The Shield. His ring work was always of a good standard, showing intelligence and consideration in his timing and move set. Big Show has a great mind for working, for doing the little things well. His facial expressions and acting skills are some of the finest of the entire roster. He can connect emotionally with the crowd - as illustrated by some of his promo work when feuding with The Authority in the latter half of 2013. When Big Show cried his eyes out in those segments he looked genuine. He got his angle over - the crowd were firmly behind him. A key player in recent months, the veteran star main evented Survivor Series against Randy Orton for the WWE title. He failed in his quest for gold, but he remains one of the WWE's staple talents and will be a marquee name once again in 2014, his 19th year in the wrestling industry.
Highlight of the year: World title feud with Alberto Del Rio
