2. Wrestlemania 6 - The Ultimate Challenge

Looking at the 1989 Survivor Series WWE Roster, it should have been clear as day what WrestleMania 6's main event would be. With Warrior on the rise and the rest of the roster not ready, too old or too young, fans were torn on which man to support. Warrior cut some of the most egregious promos on "Hoke Kogan" we would ever see. He promised to crash the plane of Hulkamania, and summoned warriors everywhere to action. It was a title vs title match, The Intercontinental Champion vs the WWE Champion. The original set up for the torch to be passed. The Ultimate Warrior was the heir apparent to Hulkamania, and with a new top guy waiting in the wings, the time seemed to be right. No one expected this to be as good of a match as it was. As Warrior's facepaint began to fade, and Hogan reached down for that little something extra each time, this was not just a pre determined wrestling match as it was a battle between the men themselves. Up until this point, there is not a time I could think of where Hogan was beaten clean in one on one action since he dethroned the Iron Sheik. Doing the job for Warrior was supposed to make him a made man, he just crumbled under the pressure. However, that should not take away the moment of him dodging the leg drop, and pinning Hulk. After the match, Hogan demanded to hand the title over to Warrior himself as Gorilla Monsoon declared... "Hulk Hogan has just taken a giant step toward immortality!"
