WWE: Ranking John Cena's 14 World Title Reigns - From Worst To Best
14. WWE Championship (6th WWE Championship, 8th Overall) February 21, 2010 - February 21, 2010
John Cena's eighth reign was over almost as quickly as it started. After surviving an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber 2010 and forcing Triple H to submit to the STF, John Cena was once again WWE Champion. Cena and the Cenation had very little time to celebrate the accomplishment. But Cena detractors had a reason to smile. Almost immediately after being awarded the championship, the music of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon blared over the arena speakers and the chairman quickly told the new champion that he would defend the championship against Batista. The Animal hit the ring and a spear and a Batista Bomb along with the damage dealt earlier in the Elimination Chamber were enough to keep Cena down for a three count, giving Batista the gold and renewing unpleasantries with Cena that had existed for years already to this point. Only Yokzuna's 2 minutes, 27 seconds after WrestleMania 9 and Andre the Giant's 30 seconds with the championship in February 1988 were shorter reigns.
