WWE: Ranking The Previous 12 Battle Royals In Wrestlemania History
4. WrestleMania IV - 20 Man Battle Royal
PPV: Bad News Brown won a 20-man battle royal by last eliminating Bret Hart at 9:48 after he and Hart joined in eliminating the Junkyard Dog; participants included: Sam Houston, Ken Patera, B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell, Jacques & Raymond Rougeau, Paul Roma & Jim Powers, Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov, Hillbilly Jim, Danny Davis, King Harley Race, Jim Neidhart, Sika, Ron Bass and George "The Animal" Steele. Why isn't it ranked higher: Bad New Brown was the right choice to win, as he was set to feud with new champion Randy "Macho Man" Savage throughout the summer. Rumors that Vince McMahon promised Brown a reign as the first black WWF Champion have swirled since, and obviously those never came to fruition. More importantly in the history of the WWF was that this match set the stage for the face turn of one Bret "Hitman" Hart- and eventually his Hart Foundation-partner Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart- after Bad News turned on the brief partnership he made with the Hitman. Hart responded by trashing the 7' trophy won by Bad News, getting one of the loudest babyface reactions of the event. Interesting Fact: One of the biggest legends in the match- George "The Animal" Steele- never actually got in the ring, but still managed to eliminate one person while standing on the ringside floor, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.
