4. WrestleMania 5 vs. Hulk Hogan

At that event, Savage was a beloved hero that won the WWE Title for the first time. At this event, about one year later, Savage was a heel defending the WWE Title that he had held for a full year. Macho Man's friendship with Hulk Hogan was fractured after Savage was mad with Hogan becase he thought he was messing around with Elizabeth. Hulk claimed they were just friends, but that didn't fly with Savage. That led to this huge showdown. The winner of the match was obvious as soon as it was set up since WrestleMania typically ended with a babyface win. This match was no different. It was a huge match. As Gorilla Monsoon said on commentary, the capacity crowd was going "bananas" for everything that happened. They did a good job of building up to a memorable finish. Savage was in control for much of the match and he hit his flying elbow off the top rope. He covered, but Hogan was able to kick out. Nobody kicked out of the Savage elbow. Hogan "Hulked Up," then he hit the punches, the big boot and he won the WWE Title again. It was an 18 minute match that was entertaining from start to finish. Savage worked his ass of to put on a good show and that's what happened. Both would have better matches, but it was still a memorable showdown between two of the biggest names in wrestling history.
