WWE Raw: 10 Things You May Have Missed (Sept 5)

2. Seriousness Of Wyatt Family Feud Hasn't Carried Over For The New Day

When Bray Wyatt invited The New Day to visit his mysterious compound and face their destiny before the brand split, it seemed like WWE wanted to add a more serious edge to the comedic WWE Tag-Team Champions. Xavier Woods was the most cautious one, scolding Big E and Kofi Kingston for taking threats from The Wyatt Family lightly.

Now, New Day are locked in a program against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Previously a menacing duo, The Club have even been tweaked to indulge in some comedy themselves, although it didn't work well on Raw. Introducing 'The Old Day', fans groaned as Gallows and Anderson recited some seriously flat dialogue.

The chance existed to make The Club vs. New Day a heated affair rife with brawling, but the writers quite obviously favour laughs. Therefore, any attempts to add legitimacy to the happy-go-lucky New Day style have been put on the back burner for now.

This renders that aforementioned rivalry with The Wyatt Family utterly meaningless, something that doesn't help either party. In effect, WWE are telling fans that it was a waste of time.
