WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (April 21)
7. Balor On Deck
AJ Styles was being interviewed by Mauro Ranallo backstage when he was interrupted by his former Bullet Club partners, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The pair were elated to see their onetime leader and thanked him for helping them get into WWE. The three men then left together, looking to hang out and reminisce.
Later, AJ had a face-off with Roman Reigns, and though words were traded, it ended civilly - until Anderson and Gallows attacked the WWE World Heavyweight Champion on Styles's behalf. "The Phenomenal One" was clearly disappointed, understanding his friends' actions but not wanting to resort to such tactics.
It's clear that the Styles-Anderson-Gallows alliance isn't meant to last. Not only are Anderson and Gallows heels while AJ is a face, but the way they came together was anticlimactic after months of waiting - the former IWGP Tag Team Champions simply showed up during AJ's interview.
This all points to Styles being attacked by his so-called friends. Maybe that moment will come at Payback. Maybe it'll come later. When it does, though, it'll lead to the debut of Finn Balor, the genesis of Balor Club, and the long-awaited Balor-Styles feud.
