WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (April 21)
8. Smackdown Doesn't Count
WWE "reinvented" Smackdown earlier this year with the show's move to the USA Network and the hiring of Mauro Ranallo, but it's clear that in the hierarchy of WWE, it's still not considered very important.
After the opening segment, Shane McMahon made two singles matches - Chris Jericho versus Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose versus Kevin Owens. Jericho and Zayn were in the ring when Raw came back from its first commercial break, ready to have something of a dream match. It wasn't the first meeting for the two men, though - Jericho and Zayn clashed in the main event of last week's Smackdown.
That match ended in a disqualification when Owens and Ambrose got involved, so a rematch is certainly warranted. The problem is that none of the announcers even mentioned that this match took place on Smackdown, making the show seem incredibly unimportant.
Had there been some acknowledgement that a tantalizing match took place on the show, fans may have decided to - I don't know - watch a future episode of Smackdown, maybe? It seems like that's not a priority.
