WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (Feb 15)

2. Triple H Is Going To Win The Vincent J. McMahon Award

Twice last night, WWE announcer Michael Cole hyped that on next week's Raw, the first Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award will be presented. Named after the founder of WWE and the father of the company's current chairman, the award is being hyped as the most prestigious honor in WWE history. If that's the case, why not present it as part of the Hall of Fame ceremony? That, combined with the subtly over-the-top way the award was put over (Cole mentioned that no one has deserved it until now), means that it's probably more of an angle than an actual honor. While the recipient will not be named until next week, it makes perfect sense that the trophy will go to WWE COO and World Heavyweight Champion Triple H. Seeing "The Game" get the company's greatest-ever award would not only rub in the fact that he's the heel who runs the place, it would also give the new number one contender (Roman Reigns) a ceremony to interrupt just 24 hours after Fastlane, kicking off the WrestleMania build in earnest.
