WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (May 16)
2. The Lucha Dragons Are Going To Split Up
Six days before his U.S. Title match with Rusev at Extreme Rules, champion Kalisto was in action, taking on his old foe Alberto Del Rio. The two men feuded over the belt earlier this year, with Kalisto capturing it from Del Rio twice - first for a day, then for four months and counting.
During the bout, there was was a curious cutaway - Sin Cara was shown backstage watching the match on a monitor. Had Sin Cara been wrestling and Kalisto been watching, that would have been one thing, but it seemed odd to give Sin Cara - who hasn't been featured in any storylines lately - this kind of spotlight. When the camera cut back to the ring, Byron Saxton was talking about how Sin Cara says he's proud of Kalisto's singles success and will support him no matter what.
Sin Cara ended up factoring into the match's finish - Rusev beat him up backstage, then brought him out to the ring, creating a distraction that let Del Rio get the win - but I still see the turn coming. Maybe Sin Cara will be angry that Kalisto didn't abandon the match to help him out, or maybe he'll just be jealous. Either way, expect it at Extreme Rules.
