The Goldango/Gorgeous Truth feud was furthered on Raw when R-Truth pinned Fandango in a singles match. The announcers used the bout as an opportunity to "hype" a Smackdown showdown between the two teams.

The hype consisted of Michael Cole and JBL burying the whole storyline between the teams. Cole jokingly compared the match to Captain America versus Iron Man, while JBL likened it to a bout between the Funks and the Briscoes. The whole thing was meant to expose just how silly this feud is.

If that's the case, though, why even put it on TV? WWE decision-makers undoubtedly know the fans don't care about the program, and so if the announcers don't (and by extension, the company doesn't) care about it, either, why even book it?

The feud isn't doing anything for the careers of the four men involved, and there have to be better ways to fill up TV time. Maybe the writers can put that energy toward thinking up a storyline for Apollo Crews?
