WWE Raw Debut Wrestlers: Where Are They Now?

7. Mr. Perfect

Curt Hennig is another from the first edition of Monday Night Raw who could accurately be considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time. A superb in-ring performer, Hennig found the ideal character for him upon joining the WWF in 1988. Cast as Mr. Perfect, the man excelled as both a villainous heel and cocky babyface. By 1993, however, his back injury had become a serious problem. Performing under intense pain pretty much every time he appeared, Hennig's role on the January 11, '93 edition of Raw was to hype his involvement in the Royal Rumble match. Specifically, he was feuding with Ric Flair, who was just about to leave the company and head back from whence he came, WCW. Later the same year, Hennig would have a stellar King Of The Ring bout against Bret Hart, one of the best of the entire year. Later, the WWF would try to transition him into being an announcer, but Hennig returned to the ring when he joined WCW in 1997. He was still wrestling, this time for TNA (following a short WWF return) in 2003 when he was sadly found dead in his hotel room on February 10 of that year. At only 44-years-old and still able to work good matches when called upon, Hennig was a loss to the wrestling industry, not least to his many friends - a lot of people thought fondly of the mischievous prankster.
