2. The Miz & Maryse

A year ago, even making this claim would be considered blasphemous by most wrestling fans, but anyone who can't admit that The Miz has been one of the most important, effective and successful wrestlers since the brand split, serving as one of SmackDown's two MVPs, is either completely dishonest or totally out to lunch.

The Miz is a God-tier heel on the level of a Bobby Heenan or a Nick Bockwinkel. If he were around in the kayfabe era he would have been the guy the old-timers bragged about "starting riots down at the Memorial Auditorium". He's an expert talker - so much so that his average ring work doesn't really even matter because he gets you invested regardless of the quality of his matches.

SmackDown is going to have to get some big names to make up for the losses they suffered Monday night, because Miz is hands down one of their two most important players. His addition to Raw will hopefully allow him to continue the momentum he's been riding for months (although the loss to Sami Zayn doesn't bode well) and keep getting guys over with his excellent character work.

Raw hit a home run with this one.
