WWE Raw Review: 10 Big Talking Points (Jan 18)

8. Brie Bella vs. Natalya

Oh yay, it's Brie Bella, the target of my hate last week that drew oh-so-many kind comments on Twitter. In all fairness to Brie: Yes, she sucks in the ring, hasn't improved at all, and only has her spot because of who her husband. Natalya brings out Paige because of some sort of storyline on Total Divas about Alicia Fox unfollowing her on Twitter...welcome to 2016 WWE. Brie Mode is in full force as we start and she hits a knee against the ropes for two. The announcers turn this match into a commercial for Total Divas and Brie uses her husband's kick against Natalya. The problem is that Daniel Bryan kicks guys in the chest, making them totally safe whereas Brie kicks Natalya in the throat, making them unnecessarily dangerous and showing why she is an in-ring liability. In any event, Natalya ducks the last kick and and applies the Sharpshooter, earning the submission victory while Paige mugs for the camera. My Take: I'm really not sure what the point of this match was. I understand they want to put over the Total Divas show but, if that's the case, then just run a promo for the show. The guys who are watching Raw aren't going to suddenly start watching Total Divas on the E Network because of a 2 minute match on Raw. And I thought we were going to be moving away from this sort of thing because of the Divas Revolution and all that other nonsense Stephanie was patting herself on the back for a few months ago. The match was 1/4* for being about a minute long and the announcers totally ignored it.
