WWE Raw Review: 10 Big Talking Points (Jan 18)

7. Tables Match: The Dudley Boyz & Ryback vs. The Wyatt Family

The match starts during a commercial break because wrestling doesn't matter and Bubba hits Harper with a back body drop. He gets floored with a boot though and if forced to tag in his brother. D-Von handles Rowan fairly easily but he gets sent to the heel corner and gets caught with a spinning kick for two. D-Von gets stuck in the heel corner and the Wyatts switch off, as per formula. Bubba tries to get the crowd going but, like all nostalgia acts, the heat disappears very, very quickly. Rowan goes to his stupid double fist submission, allowing Cole to insanely compare him to Sgt. Slaughter. How dare Cole compare the legendary Atomic Noogie of Slaughter to this big goof? D-Von breaks free and makes the hot tag to Ryback as the crowd gives him some mild applause. He cleans house on Harper and Bubba makes a blind tag as a brawl erupts. Ryback and Bray brawl to the outside but Braun Strowman runs interference as the Dudleys hit a double neckbreaker for two. They look for the 3D but Rowan breaks it up and Harper hits a discus clothesline for the win. My Take: The Dudleys have pretty much run their course and would probably be better served as trainers and occasional wrestlers in NXT. The Wyatts should be getting big wins though, so I'm completely fine with them dominating the Dudleys anytime they wrestle. Bray actually wouldn't be a bad surprise winner of the Rumble on Sunday as he would offer a fresh face in the main event scene and he would have an army of goons that Roman Reigns would have to fight through to get to the title. In any event, this match was pretty standard fare but nothing offensive *1/2.
