WWE Raw Review: 9 Big Talking Points (Jan 11)

1. One vs. All Match With Roman Reigns

We still don't know what a One vs. All match is but that doesn't stop Vince and Stephanie from bringing out all of the heels on the roster. Vince announces that Roman has to face every one of the heels until he's finished. Wasn't that a mode on the WWE video game for a long time? I remember having to beat 100 guys in a row and throwing my controller in anger when I lost at 93. Kevin Owens steps through the ropes first and controls Reigns with a chinlock after a slow start. Reigns fights out but gets distracted by everyone at ringside and gets booted to the outside. A senton by Owens on the floor hurts Reigns and takes us to break, allowing me to check the national title score yet again. We return with Owens dumping Reigns to the outside and hitting a fallaway slam against the barrier. Back in, Owens hooks another rest hold as the slow pace of the match continues. Reigns fights out with a backdrop but a superkick puts him down for two. Reigns tries a charge to the corner but that only hits post and Owens hits his cannonball splash for two. Owens misses a senton though and Reigns makes his comeback, hitting a series of clotheslines in the corner. Big boot and Reigns looks to finish but Vince sends all of the heels into the ring for a massive beatdown. A series of finishers follow until Brock Lesnar makes his way to ringside. I would advise all men in the ringside area to vacate immediately. Lesnar destroys New Day and Alberto Del RIo before almost killing Sheamus with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Lesnar stands over Reigns, trying to decide whether to help or destroy him and, thankfully, he chooses to destroy him. One F-5 later and Brock has seemingly declared that he will be in the Rumble in two weeks. My Take: This was basically Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns with a bunch of guys at ringside and it was an extremely lackluster and slow performance from both. I'm not sure if they didn't want Reigns exposed or if they intentionally worked slow to build to Lesnar. Either way, the crowd was bored and so was I. Thankfully, Brock arrived to pop the crowd and end on a high note but that just made Reigns look second rate compared to the mighty Lesnar. The whole thing was a 1/2* affair with nothing at all special to close the show aside from Brock.
