5. The Usos (w/Chris Jericho) vs. New Day
Kofi controls Jimmy to start but gets caught with a right hand and a double-team elbow gets two. Kingston turns the tide and Big E throws his weight around before busting out his sexy dance. A splash attempt is thwarted but Big E turns Jey inside out with an elbow, making him our face-in-peril. Various heel shenanigans occur as JBL reminds everyone that Kofi only exists in the Rumble to creatively avoid eliminations, much like John Morrison before him. Jey gets the hot tag to his brother to absolutely zero reaction and Jimmy hits a dropkick in the corner. Butt splash in the corner gets two but Jimmy makes the mistake of going to the top and Kofi shoves him to the floor, allowing for some quality trombone playing from Xavier. He plays a little too close to Chris Jericho though, causing him to shriek and run away. Another commercial break comes soon after and WWE wonders why they lose viewers throughout the night? We return with the heels firmly in control and Big E hitting a splash on the apron. Big E goes to an abdominal stretch like it's 1975 but he gets caught with a right hand. The heels break up the tag though and Big E floor Jimmy with a clothesline on the floor. Kofi looks to finish but gets caught with an enzuigiri and that lets Jey get the hot tag. He cleans house on both guys and hits a plancha on the heels to wake up the crowd. High cross body on Big E gets two but Mr. E comes back with a belly-to-belly suplex for two. Big Ending attempt is countered to a superkick and Kofi eats one as well. Xavier runs interference to prevent any further harm but Jericho breaks the trombone! No way...that shouldn't have happened until WrestleMania, if ever. He better get a new one next week or I'm going to be way more upset than I should be. Big E gets rolled up for the pin, like that matters after the tragedy we just witnessed. My Take: The match was a pretty standard tag match with a typical heat segment and some decent comebacks from the Usos. Xavier's selling of the trombone was enough to raise the rating of the match on sheer entertainment value alone but the actual work was nothing to write home about **1/2.
