WWE RAW Review: A Show That Started Out So Well...
CODY RHODES VS R-TRUTH R-Truth is back from injury and thrown right into the mix with Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes. R-Truth is fine. Im not either for or against him. He fulfills his role on the show well. As past RAW reviews have shown, I love Cody Rhodes. Hes one of my top 5 favorite guys working in the WWE right now. Hes just an all around great worker, great charisma, etc. This match was a welcome change from the previous Sheamus Oscar Snubs segment. The real star of this match though was Damien Sandow on commentary. He made me laugh consistently. I one day hope to grow a mustache just because I am a grown man and it is my right to do so. R-Truth gets the victory over Rhodes and is attacked post-match by Sandow. Truth comes out on top for a second week in a row. This should set up a feud between Kofi/Truth against Rhodes Scholars for Wrestlemania. This isnt a bad feud, but I would much rather see Sandow and Rhodes competing in singles matches. TEAM HELL NO VS THE PRIMETIME PLAYERS The setup to this match was that Daniel Bryan could beat the Primetime Players blindfolded and that Kane could beat them with one arm tied behind his back. Vickie Guerrero overhears this and makes that the official match stipulation. So for 7 minutes, we watch Daniel Bryan stumble around the ring blindfolded before tagging in Kane, who gets the victory. I normally would hate this kind of match, but the dynamic between Kane and D-Bry make it work. Any match that has Titus ONeil barking like a dog also gets an immediate pass in my book. Looks like Team Hell No is gonna stick together just a little bit longer. THE SHIELD PROMO Ahh, my favorite part of the show. I love The SHIELD. They are a great young team that the WWE has yet to drop the ball with. They all seem to be improving on the mic (with the exception of Ambrose, who was already awesome) and seem like a real threat to the WWE. My favorite part of the promo was following Roman Reigns GRIND YOU BONESTO DUST! comment, was Dean Ambrose patting him on the back and telling him good one. I like that they were able to show these guys have a sense of family. The promo took a very bad turn though, once Sheamus came out and challenged them. Why is Sheamus in every feud? Randy Orton coming out of the crowd and RKOing Seth Rollins was fine. I strangely enjoyed how whimsical his prance back into the crowd was. Cool of him to high five that fan too. Dont want to leave them hanging. This is the way to book a feud against the outsiders without making them look weak. Orton was only able to get to Rollins because he was left alone. This should give the SHIELD something to learn from and not be divided so easily.
