WWE Release New Lana SmackDown Teaser Video
Does a singles push beckon for the new-look 'Ravishing Russian?'
Rusev and Lana have been a package deal for the bulk of their WWE run, and both joined SmackDown Live as part of the company's Superstar Shake-Up two weeks ago. It looks like 'The Ravishing Russian' could be on the verge of embarking on her first major singles push, however, as WWE have repackaged her with a new gimmick ahead of her imminent arrival on the blue brand.
Lana's second teaser video aired on this week's SD, and can be viewed below:-
Lana has wrestled just one televised match since joining WWE in 2013, with that being a multi-woman tag match on WrestleMania 32's Kickoff Show. She has, however, been sharpening her skills at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando over the past few months, and has worked a number of NXT house show matches since December.
Her husband, Rusev, is currently sidelined through injury, but made his first SmackDown appearance via pre-taped vignette this week. There's no word on when Lana will debut, or whether she and Rusev will be kept apart, but the dancing gimmick has prompted a negative fan response thus far, with Lana responding to the criticism on Twitter yesterday:-
