WWE Releases 2020-2021: Where Are They Now?

13. Luke Harper

Brodie Lee
AEW

Released: 8 December 2020

Now: Sadly, Brodie Lee passed away aged just 41 on 26 December 2020. AEW has been very good to his family since that time, and his young son has even made numerous appearances as an honorary member of The Dark Order on TV.

May the man rest in peace and his legacy live on.

12. Killian Dain

Big Damo AEW Rampage
AEW

Released: 25 June 2021

Now: Big Irishman Killian Dain has returned to his Big Damo ring name and managed to tick a few more moments off his personal bucket list post-WWE. He wrestled for AEW, then made his way to New Japan for a match vs. Tomohiro Ishii that must've been physically vicious.

The 37-year old UK indy veteran has been around the block a time or two, so it's not inconceivable that he could someday return as a trainer for WWE. Just putting that out there, y'know?

11. Nia Jax

Released: 4 November 2021

Now: Time for a few social media lightning rods, people!

First up is Nia Jax. She received a lot of backlash for her comments about vaccinations and pro wrestling fans in general after leaving WWE. Since then, Nia hasn't pulled on some tights to work another match, and there's no guarantee she ever will again.

10. Braun Strowman

Released: 2 June 2021

Now: Braun Strowman recently received some attention online for comments about "flippy" wrestlers who fly around the ring. That came after his bout vs. fellow giant Omos in Saudi Arabia - this was Braun's first major match back in WWE since returning to action a few months ago.

Some are already taking bets on just how long Strowman will last under Triple H.

9. Karrion Kross

Scarlett Bordeaux Karrion Kross
WWE

Released: 4 November 2021

Now: Thank God one Karrion Kross was given the chance to rid himself of a quite dire main roster run from the summer of 2021. The sub-TMNT/Demolition/whatever gimmick Vinnie Mac tried to punt onto him failed miserably, so much so that Kross was gone by November.

He's back now, and seems ready to make up for lost time. A recent feud vs. Drew McIntyre has done wonders for Karrion's credibility with WWE's casual audience.
