Austin Aries was brought out to join the announce team for the triple threat Cruiserweight Championship match, a nice touch that provided some continuity from the new weekly 205Live show. Saying that, Michael Cole calling it 'the most exciting hour on television' as the crowd sits on their hands doesn't do anyone any favours.

Still, Aries was a welcome addition to the commentary team. The man is a natural professional wrestling speaker, and his ability to put over the men involved in the match whilst putting himself over simultaneously is an important skill that many of the full time commentators seem to lack.

Aries involvement in 205Live seems to hint that when his main roster debut eventually comes, the cruiserweight division will be where A Double finds himself. This may rankle some, but Aries would provide a great heel foil for men like Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander and Gran Metallik to bounce off of. The cruiserweight division may yet have life in it.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
