Chris Jericho has had an incredible 2016, with a character renaissance that even the most optimistic Y2J fans didn't see coming. The year has also seen the man pick up in-ring wins over AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Dean Ambrose and more. Almost all of these victories drew complaints from sections of the audience, and many believed that Jericho could pick up the win here too.

Seth Rollins was able to defeat Jericho however, a decision that was undoubtedly the right one as WWE moves into 2017. It was a great match too, arguably one of the best Jericho/new talent matches we've seen since the great man returned at the beginning of the year.

Jericho was able to bring out the best in babyface Seth Rollins, and not even the attempted interference of Kevin Owens could stop The Architect picking up the victory. Rollins really needs to ditch the Pedigree though, sooner rather than later.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
