The crowd just didn't care at this point. The boos continued to rain down. Everyone wanted to see Daniel Bryan and there was nothing this finish could now do to save the show. Shockingly, Kane returned to pull Punk out of the Rumble. That was a bit screwy and it would have had more impact if it had been Triple H. The three brawlers Sheamus, Batista and Reigns continued to fight it out. Loud chants of NO rained down. Reigns eliminated Sheamus to set a new Rumble record for most eliminations 12. That left Batista and Reigns. Clearly, the WWE wanted Dave to be cheered as the big returning hero, but instead it was Reigns who the audience got behind. Loud ROMAN REIGNS chants killed the boos for a short while. Both men traded spears before Batista reversed Reigns to throw him out. The Animal had won to thunderous boos in the 57 minute contest. Some fans instantly started to walk out. Winner: BatistaAnalysis: 70% It wasn't the best Rumble match. It was very disjointed, which is a common problem for such a scattered match type. The spots were ok but will be forgotten in the space of another day, and Batista winning was obviously a major disappointment to many people. No doubt about it, when Bryan didn't surprise us at number 30 it was gutting. The match never recovered. What a pop it would have been if Bryan had entered last and shocked the world. Let's focus on the positives though Roman Reigns is a star, and his 12 eliminations single him out as someone who the WWE intends to get behind in a huge way in the next few years.
