The Intellectual Savior of the Unwashed Masses (the best nickname that any superstar has ever had) has recently been on a dismal losing streak. He's won one single match this year, against Sin Cara, and even he went on to defeat Sandow in under a minute one month later. The former Money in the Bank winner has suffered terribly in 2014, and the WWE surely can't expect Sandow's profile to last much longer with form like this. The guy genuinely does have his plaudits; his mic skills show a confidence and character arrogance not seen since the likes of Carlito and Mr. Kennedy, and his in-ring work displays great technical skill, agility, and power. All of that makes him a perfect dark horse for something like the Royal Rumble, really. Cesaro's fortunes, certainly on a win-loss basis, were not great heading into Wrestlemania 30, and he wasn't even advertised as a participant in the Andre Battle Royal, and yet he came out having provided one of the most memorable 'Mania moments in recent times, and is now getting the push he deserves. The same could be done for Sandow. If the WWE capitalize on this losing streak angle, especially at a time when streaks are making all the headlines, a face turn for Damien Sandow could be imminent. They could set him up against a high-profile heel, someone similar in build to him like Randy Orton, who would be under the arrogant impression that he could squash Sandow and make him look a fool, perhaps to assert his own power or impress The Authority. All it would take is for the two to wrestle a good, clean match, with Sandow picking up the win, and he'd be on the rise again. He wouldn't even need a big finish. Something as simple as a roll up into a small package would prove just as effective, and could set up a huge few months ahead, culminating in a Royal Rumble win. And, much like Daniel Bryan's win this year erasing the memory of his 18-second loss to Sheamus at Wrestlemania 28, a Rumble win for Sandow would help people to forget the fact that he was eliminated first at the 2014 event.
