6. Roman Reigns Will Retain The WWE World Heavyweight Championship
As soon as the stipulation for this year's Royal Rumble was announced - namely, that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will be entered into the bout and forced to defend his championship in it - fans worried that it meant that Reigns was winning the Rumble for a second consecutive year. After all, WWE spent the past thirteen months building Reigns up as the ultimate world-beater... would putting him over 29 other men be out of the question? The answer is yes - not because Reigns winning such a huge match with the odds stacked against him is impossible, but because him winning makes no sense. Every year, the Royal Rumble serves a single purpose - creating a challenger for WrestleMania. If Reigns wins, the Rumble was a waste of time. The company will need to find another way to make a challenger (possibly at Fastlane), but that's something that feasibly could have been done at the Rumble if the main event was kept as a standard Royal Rumble match. If Reigns loses, on the other hand, there's a new WWE Champion who never actually beat him, making the former champ a ready-made WrestleMania challenger.
