WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Potential Main Events

2. Kevin Owens Vs. Chris Jericho

The breakup is coming. Everyone sees it, everyone knows it, but nobody knows when.

Will WWE hold-off the inevitable split between best friends Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens until just prior to WrestleMania? Will WWE slow-roll it and wait until after the Show of Shows to start their next creative year off with a bang? Or will the company go the other way and move it up in time to pack 70,000 fans into the Alamodome to witness Chris Jericho take on Kevin Owens?

Time will tell, but there's a good chance WWE pulls the trigger on Owens vs. Jericho for the 2017 Royal Rumble. It's unlikely that Owens will hold RAW's world title heading into WrestleMania 33 and this could be a good way to get the title off him, leading into another showdown between the two in Orlando. Perhaps Jericho goes over in San Antonio, but Owens then costs him the title at Raw's February event?

There's a number of ways to do it and the story has already begun to be told. WWE will book Owens vs. Jericho sometime in the next several months, and there's a very good chance we could see the duo's first meeting, post-split at the Royal Rumble.
