WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Superstars Who Have A Realistic Shot Of Winning

4. John Cena

John Cena's all but guaranteed to make an appearance at the Royal Rumble in some form or fashion.

After missing last year's event in Orlando, John is sure to make an impact at the 2017 edition emanating from the Alamodome in San Antonio. WWE will want to present the best card it can for the 70,000 hopeful fans in attendance and including the 15-time world champion in the 30-man time-dispersed battle royal would be a smart move.

But making an appearance in the Royal Rumble match and winning it are two entirely different things. After all, we've seen recent Royal Rumbles that have included surprises like Diamond Dallas Page, Michael Cole, and even El Torito, but none of them had a realistic shot at winning. John Cena showing up after the countdown clock hits :00 would be more than just a fun surprise; it would shift the odds of winning it all into his favor.

In addition, were Cena to win this year's Royal Rumble and earn a world championship opportunity at WrestleMania, it would be John's quest at a record-tying 16th world title. While it's technically happened already, it's likely that WWE would want to promote this potential history-making moment on the grandest stage of them all, and if AJ Styles remains WWE Champion through April, Cena could get to settle some unfinished business.
