WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Things To Expect
8. Mexican Legends Appear
Besides Rey Mysterio, Royal Rumble would be a great place for the company to finally give some Mexican wrestling legends some love. After all, they just finished celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month, but they only felt comfortable putting video packages together for a couple of wrestlers, and instead relied on Roberto Clemente to help fill that time.
An appearance from Mil Mascaras or Pedro Morales at the show would be a nice touch, or just giving a legend like Blue Demon Jr. a few seconds of screen time for the first time ever in WWE would be cool. And I think we can all agree that Chavo Classic is long overdue for a cameo!
WWE doesn’t have to devote a ton of TV time to the legends, or put them in a match (which would likely be incredibly dangerous at their ages!), but promoting them ahead of time, and maybe booking them at a fan festival beforehand would go a long way in drumming up some local interest. It would also help undo some of the damage the company has done with how they pushed Hispanic wrestlers in the past.
