2. Returns For Finn Bálor, Kurt Angle, And The Undertaker
The Royal Rumble match is renowned for big returns and these would be three of the biggest in the history of the event.
A potential Finn Bálor return would depend on the status of his recovery from injury. He says he's looking at coming back nearer to WrestleMania but it's also possible that he and WWE are being dishonest as a smokescreen to a Bálor Rumble return. If he is back for the match, then it's very likely he'll win the whole thing.
The most likely return and another potential winner is The Undertaker. 'The Deadman' hasn't been seen in WWE since a surprise return on the 900th episode of SmackDown in November. All signs seem to be that WWE want to put together a clash between 'Taker and John Cena at WrestleMania and an Undertaker return here to get the ball rolling on that 'Mania match would make sense. Especially if both men win on the night to set up a title match between the two.
Finally, Kurt Angle has been vocal in recent weeks and months about wanting to return to WWE and he's indicated recently that he's re-signed with the company. While WWE officials have denied that rumour, we remain hopeful that we'll see 'The Olympic Hero' back in a WWE ring in 2017. And just imagine the crowd pop if he returns in the Rumble match itself.
