WWE Royal Rumble 2017: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

1. WWE Title: AJ Styles (c) Vs. John Cena

Kevin Owens Roman Reigns

Result: Cena absolutely murders Styles with two Attitude Adjustments to win the title (24:10).

Rating: It's always a shame when the Rumble isn't the best match on its own PPV, but at least we had a great WWE Title match to make up for it.

This was insanely intense from the get-go and it almost felt like heel-Cena was being teased again. He was at a rare level of aggression that made this super exciting to watch even though we've seen them do battle before.

Props to both men for doubling down on the submission-fest mid-match and believing that the crowd wouldn't go to sleep for it: they didn't feel like rest holds and actually contributed something to the in-ring story.

It was ultimately pretty predictable like most matches on this show, but ferociously intense, and Cena's desperation came through superbly, while Styles came out of it smelling like roses even in defeat, just like always.

If Cena's doing a career victory lap to break Flair's record, then at least this is a fairly harmless way to do it. 8/10
