WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 10 Outside Bets To Win The Men's Match

9. Baron Corbin

Just what the hell is going on with Baron Corbin? It seemed that when he won the Money in the Bank briefcase last year, he was due for a run at the top. Then he lost his cash-in match in comical fashion, to Jinder Mahal no less. Later, he defeated AJ Styles for the US Title (in a triple threat match, but still). Maybe WWE were going to try him out with a mid-card title? Nope, he feuded with Sin Cara, and then dropped the belt at Clash of Champions, to Dolph Ziggler of all people.

His booking has been perplexing, and rumours continue to swirl of heat backstage. Does that mean him winning the Royal Rumble is an impossibility? Absolutely not. Even if he does have issues with management, he keeps being given opportunities. While he inevitably squanders them, it must mean that someone likes him.

A victory on Sunday would elevate Corbin to a position beyond even Mr. Money in the Bank. While a WrestleMania title program featuring the Lone Wolf is an unappealing prospect, AJ Styles has managed to drag some decent matches out of him, and past experience proves that just because someone wins the Rumble match, it doesn't mean they'll go all the way to WrestleMania. Would WWE pull the rug out from under Corbin again? It's definitely possible.
