WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 10 Worst Possible Outcomes

8. Too Many Surprise Entrants

Pictured above is good old John Bradshaw Layfield entering the 2014 Royal Rumble as the 24th entrant. JBL would last 49 seconds before being eliminated by Roman Reigns, a fact which rendered his inclusion in the match pointless. At least he was the only announcer to enter that year. The same can't be said for 2012.

Back then, the Rumble was strangled by all three announcers (Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, and Booker T) taking up spots in the match. There were just too many surprise entrants, and it did nothing to sell the idea that the Rumble was important. If WWE want the 2018 event to feel prestigious, they'll need to cut back on nostalgic cheap pops too.

The Royal Rumble is supposed to feature 30 of the top names across both Raw and SmackDown. Sprinkling some NXT stars in there is one thing, but WWE shouldn't load up the list with old legends or non-wrestlers, because it cheapens the experience.
